Madison, Wisconsin, Again

The Foghorns think of Madison as our home away from home... or the home we'd like to have.

We stopped there pretty early on our February 2007 tour. Even though we'd only been touring a short time, we'd covered 4000 miles, we'd had some bizarre trouble with the extreme cold: did you know that at 30 degrees below zero your drum set can freeze and break after only six hours in the car?

We got to Madison and had an enormous list of things we wanted to do. We'd talked to WORT radio, the Onion, the Isthmus, and I had gone to college in Madison and just wanted to look people up. What did we do? We slept. Kopur watched Muppets. Boddi and I went driving to find a small brewery and got lost.

Eventually, we got to the cozy Cafe Zoma, and we put on our show to an outlandishly hospitable audience. It was free, but the audience was cool enough to buy out our entire stock of shirts, sweatshirts, and a lot of CDs.

A highlight of the show, for me, was that Kevin Firchow, original member of the Foghorns, got up on stage and played bucket, and tambourine, and accordion. Sadly, while someone videoed some of his performance, none of it was caught on minidisc-- the minidisc player only caught the beginning of what turned out to be a very long show.

Here's a really cool review of the show.

Anyway, here's our minidisc recordings, and below are the videos of the later parts of the show. BART
