WARNING: THIS IS A VERY LOW QUALITY RECORDING!
We set a minidisc on the stage, next to Bart's monitor, for this recording, so some things didn't pick up--crowd, Bart's guitar, and other things.
Also, there was a lengthy confrontation, or set of them, with people who drank too much. This got more and more out of hand.
For the second to last song, WAKE UP, you hear a crowd member take the mic for a long long time. Following this, for the final song that we recorded, you hear some lyrics shouted, as a skirmish was breaking out in front of us. About halfway through SO SOBER, just after Bart swears into the mic, you'll hear a glass shatter just a couple inches from where Bart's head was.
Here's Bart's take on the show:
I'm from Wisconsin, and love Wisconsin bands. When The Foghorns decided to go on tour, I knew I wanted to go to out-of-the-way places in Wisconsin, like Oshkosh. A good enough plan. So in February, 2007, the Foghorns, consisting of Bart Cameron, Boddi Reynisson, Kristjan Oli Petursson, and Marisa Allen, from Wisconsin (but living in Iceland), Iceland, Iceland and Australia respectively, set out on tour, and we stopped in Oshkosh.
As it happened, we'd played a lot of gigs. Our practice space turned out to be... my minivan. The temperature was 10 degrees below zero, and that was the warmest we'd seen in a week. Only Kopur (Kristjan Oli) and I could drive, and therefore we were exhausted from 4000 miles after the first week. And then equipment started to get wacky.
So we got to Oshkosh in the cold, and a bunch of my friends showed up with large amounts of liquor-- we didn't have nearly as much food. And we celebrated being in Wisconsin until we went on stage at midnight.
It all took place at the lovely Reptile Palace. I got a bit surly over some sound difficulties that happened, for the most part, before anyone bothered to start recording, and I kind of blew out my voice being surly. But we tried to put on a good show.
Here are the MP3s from the show.
